DANIELA KRAEMER, PHD
I am a social anthropologist researching the ways urban youth refuse marginalisation, and the different strategies they use to navigate tough urban social and economic contexts.
In my applied work, I research and design ways to improve gender equality, empowerment and social development for vulnerable women and at-risk urban youth. I work in Canada and the Pacific Islands.
Director of the Center for Grounded Research , we strengthen the skills, capacity, de-colonial and ethical mindsets of future cohorts of researchers who work for government, academic institutions, NGOs, and International Development practitioners. Particularly we focus on teaching respectful research practices when engaging with marginalised, vulnerable and at-risk individuals or groups.
